spaces

At the end of 2024, I had been living and working in and around New York for two years. During that time, I had a hand in the production of projects for museum exhibitions and retail environments. Installation sites ranged from international museum institutions, global brand flagships, and New York architectural sites that I felt privileged to work within.

The builds were mostly rectilinear, functional objects meant not to distract from the artwork or clothing they presented. Once the excitement of the impressive contexts wore off, I needed a reprieve from that rigid way of thinking, and to direct the latent creative energy left unused by my daytime work.

These scenes are exercises in set design as much as they are concepts for imaginative architecture and interiors, and each explores a chorus of form, color, light and material. In these sketches, my own lamps, hanging fixtures and furniture exists beside commercial furniture within made up, at times impossible spaces.
